e se ti ’t pense mai

a fass festa doi di.

Për mi che…dré da ’n bijon o j’é l’Àfrica…
mi che d’ògni còsa e d’ògni stòria a conoss ël radis…
mi ch’a peuss nijé ant un sòt d’eva…come ch’o fissa ’l mar…
e stand an pé…(a) peuss beiché lontan…!

Ma ’n di veuj volé dcò mi
e voghe ’l mond da ’n sima

Italiano

Son qui son più piccola di uno spillo
sono una formica per te
che se cammini non guardi
neanche dove metti i piedi.

Le nuvole son le stesse anche per me,
una creatura
da qui tutto il mondo sembra più grande
sembra più….

Hai provato a spostare
le montagne con le mani
e a specchiarti la mattina
in una goccia di rugiada
e a sentirti da sola
in una fila di milioni
con una cicala che canta
e ti fa sentire un “coglione”…

E un fannullone e uno scansafatiche
io non so cos’è
ma piace anche a me arrampicarmi
su un albero per mangiare
a ciliegia più bella che c’è.

E se a te sembra
che siamo tutte uguali
io conosco il mio compagno
anche al buio
anche solo dal sorriso.

Hai provato a sdraiarti
sotto l’ombra di un fiore
e stare tutto un inverno
senza mai vedere il sole
e parliamo con le piante
quando sono ancora in fasce (appena nate)
e tutte insieme, tutte quante
disfiamo (buttiamo giù) un palazzo.

Io so fare economia

E stando in piedi posso guardare lontano…!

Ma un giorno voglio volare anch’io
e vedere il mondo da sopra
sentire l’aria calda in faccia
e il sole negli occhi le nuvole,
da ammucchiare senza fatica in un solo viaggio
e tu
che mi guardi grande come un pidocchio in un pagliaio
e se lui mi dirà di si
potrò anch’io
toccare il cielo con un dito.

English

Here am I, smaller than a pin I’m an ant,
you don’t even see me
if you bother to look down
as you step along the path.

Clouds look the same to you, as they do to me,
but a humble speck am I
The world looks bigger from down here,
looks more…

Have you ever tried moving
mountains with your hands,
or seeing your reflection in the morning
in a drop of dew
Or marching alone
in a rank of millions,
when a cicada’s song
makes you feel like a damn fool…

He’s a lazy good for nothing,
I really don’t know,
but I too love climbing trees
to find the tastiest
cherry up there.

And if you think
we are all just identical,
well I can find my lover
even in the dark
by his smile alone.

Have you ever stretched
out in the shadow of a flower,
and spent the entire winter
without ever seeing the sun
And we speak to the newborn plants,
and when we all get together,
all of us together,
we can push a building down.

I am thrifty,
you are wasteful,
just think about those of you
who saw the war,
who really saw it
And if you’re the one who never remembers past
or future
I’m the one
who parties
for two days
with your leftover crumbs.

I am the one who sees Africa beyond every tree trunk…
I who know the roots of every thing and of every story…
I who can drown in the puddle of a footprint as though it were the sea…
And if I stand up I can see far away…!

But one day I too wish to fly
to see the world from above
to feel the warm air in my face
and the sun in my eyes
To easily brush the clouds into a pile with a stroke
And you
who will watch me from down there, like a flea in a haystack
And if he will say yes to me,
I too can
touch the sky with a finger.
